What's a ASD-7? I know.... don't rip me --- this whole technical lingo thing is hard to keep up with for me!

Here you go Joe...

The complete site is there. I believe the ASD-7's are the upgrade to the Asd-6's. Different steering and slight skeg change, I'm sure I'm missing a few things. I've driven a few V-bottoms (38 Hustler) and was impressed. Popped up on plane quickly and docked as easy as it's bravo twin. Both boats are at Lake cumberland. The Hustler in the pic I did not drive, but that has ASD-6's. I have the ASD straight 8's, with my Yanmar package, like the #6 equivlent. Dock as easy as my last 4300 with #5's. They are actually 6" shorter than the #6 drive. Very reliable just not many service centers. Relatively easy to work on. BTW your boat is sweet, love the paint. Jeff

Not likely IMO. Like any engineering effort, it may get changed, it will come out with improvements, but it is very unlikely that it will be abandoned.

Re: Merc 700 Sci
I've heard nothing but great things from some boat builders using the NXT package on some 32 FT cats here on the west coast. Easy to install, and run like Banshees. One Co. owner even said he thought the way the boat ran, the 700HP rating was on the conservative side. I hope Merc keeps the NXT around for a while.
