1982 Excalbiur Hull ID Location

A friend of mine is looking at a 24ft excalibur. The boat is a 1982 single engine TRS drive. The price is right but there is no Hull ID stamped in the transome of the boat.

Was this put in a different location on these boats?\

The boat is in Canada is it possiable they did not stamp it because Hull id's were not required in Canada?

If it was never given a hull ID what steps would need to be taked to get it an ID here in the states.

Thanks

Rob

we had one of these boats back in the 80's and the hull was stamped in the top right where it should be. I'm pretty sure ours was a 1980

That's where I figured it should be. I wonder if it never had one or if someone filled it in for some reason. I told him he should have the owner start sanding the transome in the top right to look for it.

We has a 1977 that had it stamped on the right side of the transom as you are standing behind the boat.
Transom replaced????
