Mods worth the $$$ ?

Looking into a couple of upgrades for my boat I just purchased.

The boat: 1996 26' Scarab W/ 502mpi.

The upgrades: Interested in the K&N Flame
Arrestor and possibly computer upgrades. Are these worth the $? What should I expect in return?

I am currently changing over my trailer to disc brakes and completely re-doing the audio in my boat so a Vortech or a Whipple is out of the budget for this year.

Thanks in advance.

Do the flame arrester and save your money for the headers and then do the computer. Reprograming the computer is so you can add aftermarket parts not before. Another good improvement is have your prop lab finished. Make sure its the right prop first. And don't buy a 4 blade prop unless you need it ( problems getting on plane, blowing out.)

Alot depends on your budget
and what you are looking for
a few things to get minumal results from are from what I have seen and heard about
Vortech K N arrestor= no speed but better throttle response and cleaner transom
get the whole kit includes fuel regulator and msd ignition module add on says 50 horses more.
I agree with Tinker get the ecu upgrade wehn you do exhaust and or supercharger. Not on a stock motor.
Is this a efi or carb? Heard that carbed versions really like a cam upgrade easily.
Labbed props are your best bet for cheap speed increases.
Hope this helps some
