Guess Garry better get his boat together. He lives for that stuff :D :D
|
Nort...Go baby Go, It must be nice to wake up, Wipe the eye boogers away, Clean the funk sweaters off your teeth, and say to yourself in the mirror "Wich Boat should I take today?"
I hope you all had a fun day on the water. I have a Sea Trial at high noon on wed. I hope it is as good as today. Take care. Matt  |
Hey lake boys.....this is the $hit we're talking about!!!!! The big Pacific Blue!

whooooooooooooossssssssssssshhhhhhhhhhhhh' spaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa laaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa shhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh :D :D :D :D :D |
Jon,
Dazzz Right :D G |
Ok, running in those big lazy swells sounds like an absolute blast, but how do you get out to them? I'm envisioning an inlet with 20' breaking waves you'd have to cross to get out of the harbor/marina. Yes? No? Is anyone actually going out to take advantage of these conditions??
|
The graphic is a pretty large scale. The open ocean beyond the islands is what I'm looking at. The islands are between 12-25 miles out..........beyond that, it's BIG.
The only bouy that seems to be operational out beyond the islands seems to be this one. http://www.ndbc.noaa.gov/station_pag...$station=46047 It shows currently at 13 feet, but as high as 19 feet measure today!!!!! Nort (aka Universal Chaos) :D :D :D |
The red starts around 60-70 miles out ... we never run out there. We usually run between the 34N-33N and 119W-117W marks inside of Catalina Island
|
Probably small craft warnings............You go Gary!!!!!
:D :D :D :D |
Looks like a pretty hairy run between Marina del Rey and Long Beach  Coming around Palos Verdes, more often than not, is always big
|
When I went from lauterdale to key west in a friends big magnum we were in around 30 foot seas out in the gulf and they were so far spaced it was like it was calm out, even in 6-8 footers they were like riding a big smooth pillow, here in the lakes they are so close it's crazy to even bother trying to go out at all, but I don't like the ocean you guy's can keep it, I like to be the top of the food chain at all times.
|
G,
It was nice that day we ran into that storm!! :D  Frickin eye of the hurricane it looked like! |
You got that right
|
whiners. That stuff is so far apart, you can take a Zodiac in that. :D :D
It's just bringing the sharks closer to shore!!!! Anyone else see 48hours/dateline/whosamajjobibies news deal with the guy that got attacked by the shark? Dumbass is going to sue, and on TV, he admits he was "looking aroudn for sharks". LOL! Yeah, I think you'll win...."I knew they werew there, I swam, got bit, now I wanna get some cashola, okay?" Pffft. |
They ain't that far apart ... at 60+mph, you can span the swells ... but, like when a Supercross rider doesn't quite make the triple ... gets a litle ugly

TIT-

Hey guys,
Which weather forcasting web sites are the best for So Cal? I'm up here in Ventura and use these: http://205.156.54.206/om/marine/zone/west/loxmz.htm http://cdip.ucsd.edu/models/sb_channel.gif http://www.nawcwpns.navy.mil/%7Eweat.../analysis.html http://facs.scripps.edu/surf/buoylist.html Any other good sources for boating weather in California? |
Hey SCUBADO!
What up? Those are some great links there. Do you launch from Channel Islands or the Ventura Harbor? Nort (aka Universal Chaos) :D :D :D :D |
I have my boat in storage about a mile from Channel Islands, so I usually launch there.
|
We out today to Sea Trial in the good stuff. Launched around 12:30 out of Dana Point. Today reminded me of why I got into this buisness. Sun Tan, Big Waves, Somebody else paid for the gas. As we were coming up on plane I looked over and Warlock Dave had a Dolphin 6 feet off the water and 4 feet from his head right along side the boat. Scared the hell out of me at first. Great day...Great job!!! :D :D :D
|
Nort, it's you that's been hiding dude! Ducking my emails and phone calls!!! :D :D :D (I just set myself up there, I can feel it :( )
Scuba, when we running again...Oh wait I have to get my boat back first! Tank |
 Marina del Rey look BIG today
|

How's the project comming along? Anytime you get the urge to go boating let me know, I've got some time on my hands now. |
Matt,
What boat did you take out today?? G |
32'Fountain Feer w/Twin 502's. I was very impressed.
|
The project is coming.....All about cash....Hopefully with in the next month or so it'll be done.
I'll drop you an email the next time we get on the water with Louw and Kevin and everybody. Tank |
