Boat Lift

I'm thinking of buying a Boat Lift ( Hydro Hoist) . Can anyone help in what to look for in a quality unit . I would like to not have to launch every time i go out but don't like the idea of leaving the boat in the water . I will be boating in Lake Ontario , Toronto area. If I could find a good used unit I'ld be interested . For a Top Gun.

hydro hoist is a reputable brand, a lot of them near me and on LOTO...... that said- are you in protected water??

Any good lift will get tired sooner subjected to a regular beating :drink:

Sunstream makes a cleaner unit but grab your ankles when they give you the price. They think it is made of solid gold.

New the HH runs about $1 per pound. You can buy used for 1/3 to 1/2 of new but you usually have to haul it your self. Get one rated for 1 1/2 times the weight of your boat with full fuel. I have used the tip up, side arm, and cable level lift. I like the cable style best due to boat damage with the other two styles.

Poly Lift is a great lift. Much better quality than HH and I keep my boat on an HH. I think they are made up around LOTO and are designed to handle to rough water there.

HORRIBLE!

I used it exactly once before I had an issue and was out of commission for about 3 months! I ended up having the factory ship me the parts to fix my $10K, 10K# lift.

If anyone ever has a problem with Hi-tides service please give me a call and I might be able to help. They are one of my best customers so I'll do what I can.
