Taylor Performance Inc - A Class Act!!!
I recently purchased an engine built by Gary Taylor of Taylor Performance Inc. (http://www.tpboats.com/) after buying the Quad Rotor Whipple Charger Gary had for sale on OSO.
After numerous emails about the required rigging of the boat for proper engine performance, Gary informed me that he had looked at pictures of my bilge and figured out everything I needed for the fuel system, intercooler plumbing, water dumps, etc... Today UPS showed up with a box that had all the hoses, fittings, fuel pump, fuel filter, separator and custom water dump to complete the engine installation. Everything was bagged and tagged for each system - Fuel, Water, and Intercooler. Engine is scheduled to ship in a couple weeks and I will now be well ahead of the game! The communication from Gary throughout this process has been unbelievable. I truly cannot say enough about the service and support that I have received from him. In an industry where it seems that customer service is next to none existent, it's nice to come across a guy with such dedication to his customers and his craft. Thank you Gary! Kirk Jurinek |

That is good to hear......let us know how the motor runs.

Re: Taylor Performance Inc - A Class Act!!!
Will do. If it runs half as good as it looks, I'm in great shape!!

Re: Taylor Performance Inc - A Class Act!!!
I purchased the Quad Rotor Whipple from Gary and he had the long block for it sitting there assembled just requiring assembly and dress out. He has set up this combination many times in the past and I felt it was a great option. An opportunity arose and I siezed it.
If you saw this past months Powerboat article, Ateco builds a great engine. Brad Zastrow has been nothing but pleased with those monster engines Bill designed and built. I am very pleased with the support I received throughout this process from Gary and just wanted everyone to know. :D |

Depending on the pulleys - 975 HP, 1100 HP or 1240 HP.
Here's a copy of the 1100 HP sheet. Unreal! |

Sorry I couldn't haul it out there for ya. Is it on the way yet? |
Re: Taylor Performance Inc - A Class Act!!!
Hey Harry. Not yet. Gary is building a start cart and wants to run the engine first using his new cart.
I need the transom assembly first anyway. Wish it would have worked out for me with you delivering it. You still interested in the coupler? I had two inquiries today. |
Re: Taylor Performance Inc - A Class Act!!!
That motor is a work of art. Can't wait to see the numbers!

Re: Taylor Performance Inc - A Class Act!!!
I can't wait to see it in person. Boats ready. Fuel system should be done tomorrow.
All I need is a drive, the engine and warm weather!! |
Re: Taylor Performance Inc - A Class Act!!!
That is a beautiful set up. What drive are you going to put behind it? Also can't wait to hear how it runs in your boat.

Re: Taylor Performance Inc - A Class Act!!!
Kirk, looks real nice. I hope it all works out for you.
Your bud, Mark |
Re: Taylor Performance Inc - A Class Act!!!
Kirk,
I am sure you have studied that dyno sheet. Huge torque at 4200. Did you notice the fuel consumption. Hope you don't cruise to long at 4200, 125 gal/hr. Lucky you don't have 2 of them. You could drain most tanks in a boat in an hour with those big boys. I don't understand how it burns about the same fuel at 4200 as 5400. If that is the case you might as well run around WOT all the time. Oh, you already do that don't you. Rick |
Re: Taylor Performance Inc - A Class Act!!!
I don't know that the fuel table/consumtion is correct.
It does have huge injectors - 95#!! :( Fortunately I have a 140 gallon tank! Also a good thing we mostly idle and raft off on the Chain. The fun will be on Lake Michigan when I run you big guns!!! |
