Baja Boss,
Yeah , Dodges are junk. My last one had 150,000 miles and I never had a problem and the one before that had 80,000 !

I think all the new trucks are cool but the Chevy/Dmax is about $9000 more than I paid for my new 2500/Cummins and the Ford doesn't get the gas milage that I get. I'll stick to
my Dodge

Hey 26Scarab,

First I really like the pictures you posted. Great boat and the engine is awesome. :D

I am glad you have had good luck with your Dodge's. I'm sure there are good ones out there, I have just seen too many with problems and unhappy owners. I hope this new truck is killer. Ford news competition. I hope the Duramax also proves to be great. Like I said, the Dodge styling is super, I just hope the truck matches it in reliability. Take care

I currently have a 94 3500 turbo diesel and a 2001 Jeep Grand Cherokee limited and have had no problems with either and like I said my Dodge has almost 200k. I understand what
is being said but really if you look at all the trucks you can pretty much see where each has had it's own set of problems. I think you buy what you want to and hope for the best, because like I said each maker has had their own problems.

Oh and I take back what I said about the boxey trucks Caleb. :D I had a 74 W100.

real trucks for real people

WOOOOHOOOO!
Maybe it is time to trade in the '95!! I hate duallies, but now I can get a single rear 3500. The automatic doesn't matter give me 6 gears and a clutch anytime, no auto can match a stick, boys! The '95 has done an awesome job of towing the 14,000 lb boat and trailer, I doubt a Ford or Chev could do any better, and inline sixes will smoke a V-8! Ask any diesel mechanic which engine he works on the most- it won't be a CUMMMINS, they just don't break.

boathead 02-10-2002 08:48 AM

sorry guys, NO ALLISON, they're using the same piece of **** automatic, I love Dodges, but you gotta get a stick , their autos suck. The only way i'd have an auomatic in one is if it's a BD(aftermarket)trans.
The rumour about a Mercedes diesel is also untrue, most owners have stated emphatically that the main reason they bought a Dodge is because of the MIGHTY CUMMINS, so the krauts would have to be complete idiots to put that damn V-8 Mercedes in their trucks.

fountain1fan 02-10-2002 08:10 PM

what is the web add to dodge trucks

Dono 02-10-2002 09:37 PM

I love my 98 cummins but i agree that the auto trans is a pos. has any body had any luck with an aftermarket trans. If so who makes it and where do i get one. mine has 98k trouble free miles but twice now in the cold mornings it took a few seconds to hook up after i put it in gear. kinda acted like it was in neutral for about five seconds. has me concerned. I also just did a tranny tune up. Anyone expierence this before? Is my tranny about to take a ****? :(

I had a 95 That I towed everything but the house with. Auto trans, 110K miles and no major service problems. Only one complaint. One time while towing my small boat the cruise controll got stuck. Pumped the break-Nothing,Hit the button on the steering wheel-Nothing. I had ine foot on top of the other on the brake pedal andit wouldnt slow down. Finally for no reason it just shut off and I slowed down. I took the truck to the dealer the next day and they found nothing. Ive never towed in cruise controll again. Still I think they are the best truck on the road.
