single v bottom with #6

What is the smallest single engine v bottom you have seen with a #6 on the back? 27? 28? 30?

It seems that there are quite a few after 32 feet.

There is a guy on this board with a 30' checkmate I believe, has a turbo motor in it and runs 115mph+ with it.

I would be very interested in hearing how a small boat handled with a #6 compared to a bravo style out drive.
I have heard of a few guys going with BIG hp 1000-1100hp on small light boats (single vee) but I can't figure out how you would make it last without the big drive on it. The big #6 weighs like 500lbs and consumes hp just to run it.
So, has anyone got this handled?

I would run a Konrad before a 6 if possible. Konrad said if they were not being conservative they would rate it at 1000HP.

My boat and Masher's have #6s on the back. The problem isnt so much the HP drain, its the CG of the boat. When you go from the Bravo to the #6 it adds 320 lbs. to the back of the boat. The center of gravity now is much further back than with the Bravo. The handling characteristics might be jeopardized.

there arn't many used Konrads to pick up but there are a few #6
I'm mostly concerned with the weight and how it would effect a single boat around 27-30 weight approx 5800lbs formaly a bravo

It would then seem best to move the engine foward wouldn't it?

Wasn't there a guy at one of the radar runs a year or 2 back with a 25' Baja with 1000+ and a 6? I'll see if I can find the thread.....
