bunk! it's about the boats! where's the money at? what are you there to sell?

inexcusable. any dealer I know moves the display boats in and gets them detailed right off knowing that the serious show goer/buyer often is an early bird looking to avoid the crowds.
You can set up easels, literature tables, put down runners and such at your convenience after the hard set-up work is done and the product shows it's best.

The holiday bit is a poor excuse that wouldn't dare fly in the face of a successful business

If you're gonna bring something to a show - it better look the best you can possibly make it. And you better represent it well.
I underestand that this was set up through the holidays, but come'on, this is your boat, and your job.
Take a little pride in your product and represent it well.
The fact that it was "through the holidays set-up" sounds like an excuse that I hear too many " Americans" use these days.
And just that, an "excuse" for poor represantation, and preperation.

No excuse. Presentation is speaks volumes, from the product to the salesmen. I can't tell you how many equipment deals we pull from other dealers, just based on product presentation and making the customer feel welcome.
