Yes, hubby did too and we're both current. Made both my kids, 21 and 18, take one last summer.

EVERY SINGLE PERSON who boats on a regular basis should be forced to take this course IMO.

Yes, took it with the wife when we bought our first boat in 94. (so not exactly current anymore). Not only is the course a good idea for safety reason, I get a 10% discount on Ins. too!

BTW: I'd love to see boat liscensing as well!

My wife and 3 grils have all passed a safty corse and I have taken and passed a 9 week power squadron course. It is well worth it .First time you go boating you notice so many boaters screwing up.

I have taken it 4 times in my life, the last 2 were 9yrs ago I did the standard, then advance nav, because I was going to get my 6 pack lic. but was to busy after. whats current???

When my son turned 13, we both took it together. At 13 he could leaglly drive a boat in Texas!
