Unhappy Re: Boat Crash off Marco Island Today

That's not just the nose of the boat that came off...
It appears to have snapped in half from the dashboard forward.

Reminds me of the raceboat BUCKSHOT in the Point Pleasant Race a few years back. They fortunately were much luckier.

My prayers go out to the families.....

That is terrible, what could have caused the hull to break like that?

Is it just me or does the media make every powerboat accident sound like it was caused by some crazed criminal from an old Miami Vice episode?
I agree, reports from fisherman saying boat was weaving in and out of other boats at a high rate of speed. I'm sure the stories will get better and better.

Thoughts and prayers to everyone involved!

Last report NBC-2 9:05am said the boat was a Donzi?

The waters are very shallow around Marco. I think that it was close to low tide. There wasn't much in the height of the waves all day, as you can tell by the pictures. Just a thought.

A very sad event. Condolences.

Local NBC-2 is reporting live from a marina to which wreckage will be brought. Reporting "many witnesses". Reporting subject "doing figure 8's and jumping it's own wake". They're saying wreckage area was approx 1/2 mile off inlet/pass. Reporting "there were alot of boats around". Maybe a lotta wake...
