I saw the show too , pretty impressive how they were building the ship while still designing it. A family business / builder built it.

Just watched a "Military Channel" program on the Navy's newest boat the Sea Fighter. It is a catamaran style hull, 262' long 1400 tons (280,000lbs) turbine and diesel powered. That ship really moves at 50 knots (57.5 mph). They even landed a helicopter on the ship at top speed. That had to be a bit scary.
Maybe the NAVY could enter it into some Poker Runs. :eek: Saw that last night also ,pretty cool ,heard the capt say one time 55 knots ,and they wouldnt disclose how fast they really were |
