You asked about fenders: I recommend 10" diameter ones. They will protect you no matter what, even up against a dock in rougher waters.

Box anchor, not to mention they are easy to stow, and you don't need a chain.

Box for sure. Holds fast in mud, stones, rocks, sand etc. Easy to set and retrieve. Best and last anchor I will own. I also have one of their sand spikes for calm days at the beach or to hold the stern when anchored in the shallows at the beach.

I have anchored in all kinds of bottoms, including really soft mud. The box anchor worked well. I did have more trouble setting it than usually, but once it was in, it was in for good.

The only time I had trouble was in a creek/river that a tremendous amount of hydrilla which had formed a dense but loose mat on the creek/river bottom. NO one was able to anchor that day, but I went down and pulled out a patch of hydrilla, and set the anchor in that open spot with no issues.

Where will you store your anchor? We have a nice compartment in the tip of the bow for anchor chain , etc. The box anchor's work well.

Box anchor and a slide anchor(beach spike) for the beach or shallow water. Small box works fine for my 29 footer.

I sometimes drop the box about 75' to 100' off the beach and back in close to the beach and use the sand spike to hold it stern in.

Gave away my danforth also
