RonP- how did you get your router and Lan back on-line? Comcast just said to make changes by 2/02/02. If I follow their instructions for tcp/ip setup, which means I only had to change to "Use DCHP for Wins Resolution", everything works OK on a computer plugged directly into the cable modem. BUT-- I need to figure out what info to put into the Linksys Router (BESFR11). If I switch it to IP auto, I get nothing. It all works fine if I use static IP and put in the numbers. Thanks

Its all in the power up sequence.

Unplug the modem for a minute, not just turn off, unplug.

Once the modem is up and stable, plug the power into the router so it gets the IP address.

Once the router is stable, power up the computer.

That did it for me. I have a NetGear router. Go onto the Lynksys site and see if they have any helpful hints. The Netgear site had it all spelled out for me. Take a look.

Thanks Ron, I found the problem--me! I spelled the ID wrong for the Host name. I must have been reading too many of puder's posts!
