Deck boat vs. Pontoon boat?
Just spent the day on a buddy's Hurricane deck boat and it was a beating! Boat was a wet ride, ran 50 mph but steering sucked at low and high speeds. The wind would rip the boat 180 degrees in a second at idle.
Are pontoon boats any better?
I have never been on either and thought the deck boats would be a better ride but after today I am not so sure.

Re: Deck boat vs. Pontoon boat?
Mine does none of those things and runs upper 40s. Steering is what I would call heavy but it's a pontoon. It's not wet at all and the wind doesn't do anymore to it than my Baja. If I had to pick one I'd pick the pontoon

I'm a lake guy most of the time and I have a pontoon boat. I've taken quite a few waves over the bow / front end. A 2 footer can destroy anything in it's path.

One of the worse things I have seen was a 21' pontoon get flipped over backwards when it turned into the wind. A storm was coming in on the lake and when the pontoon came around the bluff, the wind got in between the pontoons and lited it over backward. With 5 people on board. I will never own a pontoon after seeing that.
