Also witnessed Yahoo put a whooping on the entire Super Cat fleet with an older boat in Daytona , until Curtis hurt his back and had to come off plane. As you can probally tell I admire my friend CM!

Daytona 2001 . So rough we barely got through the inlet. It was super rough that weekend. Boats would disappear behind the waves.

How can you respect my opinion if you don't even know who I am?
My .02 cents worth.
By the early 90's, as several people already said, the 40 Skaters were pounding the 47 Apache's ( Best rough water v ever) in big water and everyone quit racing them because they couldn't keep up. Size for size the "good" cats will be faster if JT is driving. IMHO a 47 Apache/Saber will be more comfortable and a little safer if you don't have to go wide open because as someone said you don't need to be on top going wide open to go somewhere in the v like a cat. No middle speed for a cat in rough water and the faster you are going the more chance to make a mistake. This summer the new 47 Saber will have plenty of time to square off with Ruthless and we can see how they fair on a rough day in Lake Michigan. Comom summer. NK

This is the first thing I noticed in hitting the 8-10 foot
ocean swells.
65 we were getting pounded so bad that I could
barely hit the trim buttons on the dash.
85- 90 she was starting to pack The ride smoothed out.
I then noticed one of the engines was bouncing
on the limiter only to find out I smoked a tranny.
Wheres JT when ya need him.

IME (In my experience), running in "true" 8-10's, everyone's getting pounded (one way or the other), unless you're running parallel in the troughs ---- regardless of which boat!
