Smith Mountain Lake Poker Run

My big Donzi pig is always a challenge, water or not, can't imagine paddling! Trailer trim idle out is always an option below 1000 rpm.
We'll make it happen some how, wouldn't miss it for the world.
Is Mariners a gradual or steep ramp?

Maybe I can Help some here.
The forces that be are still letting water out. After two weeks of rain the water came up to a reasonable leval 2.5 ft below, and then bam down 4ft down by next day. Thats allot of water to let out the damn. They keep blaming the a drought, may be a little truth to that but the real reason is the Deregulation of Power in VA. AEP is selling power to anyone as soon as the water comes up.
As for ramps, I know the ramp at the Virginia Dare can accomodate anyones boat. They just extended it even farther into the water. Also if the can pull a paddle boat out I am sure all of our boats will be OK. Best thing to do is just wait until that weekend, AEP may actually keep the water up that weekend knowing it is the PR.

Sorry people, but my 11000# boat does not paddle anywhere. I've tried. We'll just have to watch the weather, hopefully they'll keep some water in the lake and we'll get a load of rain between now and then.

Hey everyone!
I will also be at the Poker Run! I am the Black Thunder rep for the area and I will have my 43 ft Black Thunder there! Unless someone buys my 43 then I will have a new 46 there! Looking forward to meeting everyone and checking out a new lake. I have never been to SML so I might be asking alot of questions! Lets exchange cell numbers before the run. I plan on getting there Friday around noon. I was hoping I could talk a local into showing me the lake! Will!!!!! Thanks for all the info and I want to invite everyone to check out the Black Thunder!

Mike, I looked at a BT several years ago. Awsome boats. Nothing like being able to walk around in the cuddy standing up. The real test will be to see if Bryan can stand up in there!!
See you in May. By the time you arrive I will have found a decent ramp, so We'll exchange ph#s
