You should post this over on the Fountain forum. With 700's Fountain claims 105+...I've heard 108mph.

I think it would have to be 700's and #6 drives too. I have heard issues with the NXT drives. I saw a test with 850's and I believe the boat ran around 120mph.

Are top end numbers pretty much the same with #6 instead of NXT?

Not susre but the NXT drive was not holding up to the power...so...it's not even a case weather it is faster or not. The NXT will not work period.

Other manufacturers are doing just fine with the NXT drive.

It was posted here on OSO some time back that the Fountains were not handling well with the NXT drive, and they were being swapped for VI drives to correct the issue.

(9000th post too.)

OK talked to someone in the know....Fountain still uses the NXT gimbal but puts the # 6 uppers and lowers on for better performance and durability.

Hey Brian I believe it had to do with the nosecone not being really good and efficient for the speeds they are running.....atleast thats what I heard about the 38. However I know they were having issues with the 42 due to weight....which makes you wonder why the 38 TG, and 38 Donzi are not having similar issues.
