Exciting times ahead in the outboard market!!!
Saber Marine will have a 44 and a 37 cc by the summer. Yeah for big outboards! NK

I don't think there are many builders out there right now who can afford NOT to offer a CC. They are gaining in popularity in a big way. Why not build one? If you do you've just upped your chances of selling a boat by a pretty good percentage I would think.

With triple 350 eggbeeters, a boat like, say, a 34 Yellowfin ought to come pretty close to 80 ?? That's as fast as most CC owners would ever want to go. Unless you compete in SKA.

One things for sure, with that kind of HP I will be tearing out my leaning post and installing wrap around bosters!! Yeah baby!!

As far as the verado, I suppose it has it's place. But the 2 strokes out perform it, burn considerably less gas...... and are LIGHTER. I recal when OMC came out with the V8 and merc laughed and made fun of it for being to heavy....... the Verado is 100lbs more!.
It would be nice to see the steering and fly by wire on the Opti and for other mfg to pick up the concept.

Actually when you figure in the cost of the oil burn with 2 strokes you come out ahead with Verado 4 strokes.

There are 2 Fountain 31 CC in my neighborhood. 1 has 225 Opti's the other has 2-250 Verado's. Both boats get around 2mpg at cruise however the Verado boat does not have the cost of oil. Also the Verado boat is a tade faster, quieter and easier to steer.

How's the build and rigging quality of Glasstream? I have never been able to see one in person.
thanks

GREAT power to weight ratio and fuel economy. I know- that pesky 2 stroke oil stuff adds some cost and sound levels over the 4 strokes but still quieter than most "performance" boats.

What other motors did you consider?

Actually since the Concept boats are extremely light weight the 300xs will be a great choice for Marks Concept. I'm sure 275 Verado's would be a nice package too with there ease of ownership and the whole Verado package but the 300xs will give Mark the ultimate in performance which I believe is all he is after.
