There are 2 Fountain 31 CC in my neighborhood. 1 has 225 Opti's the other has 2-250 Verado's. Both boats get around 2mpg at cruise however the Verado boat does not have the cost of oil. Also the Verado boat is a tade faster, quieter and easier to steer.
You dont change our oil and filter.....................

mercury service manual says to change oil every 100 hrs more so if the engine is used under adverse conditions.
requires 7 of a 92-883722k01, 4stk oil qt @ $7.00 per for $50.00 in oil plus 1 of a 35-883701 l6 verado oil filter @ $20.50 now were at $70.00 plus labor. so well say $100 for the oil change plus the down time. or you go with optimax or etec oil @ $20.00 a gal. may be 5 gal every 100 hours tough choice.
