Brt
Does anyone know if BRT made any 3 man sit down boats? I thought I saw one in Boston about 10 years ago, looked cool. Does anyone have any pics? Thanks: Matt

To my knowledge they did not.. I converted my 1986 BRT from a two man sit down to a three man standup around 1990. I had BRT build me the 3man bolster seat and an aluminum wind fairing. I had MDG Performance replace the 3man bolster in 1994 and have been considering lately converting back to a sit down...

SWEET, have you ever considered putting 35 or 40 degree pillow all the way across the sunpad by the headrest to make it all loungy, thats a kick ass sunpad you have there.

Great looking boats. |
Hey cool. It looks like a race pack Pantera 24 Sport. Same family (I've never heard of BRT either!)?
|
Yep, carm was telling me it's the same 24/7 hull as Pantera, Python etc.
Hope he can chime in. |
The late model brt boats were built by signature. that 27 brt is the signature 27. Mike Becall owned the 24 brt the 27 Signature and the 38 Signature.
Unfortunatley the mold was sabotaged and cut in half one night abot 4 years ago on Cape Cod. |

There has to be story behind this. Care to elaborate?? What a shame. |

Here are some more BRT pictures from my collection. These were actually sent to me from Paul Barros at BRT in 1989-1990, the yellow boat I found listed on Boat Trader

That new deck created a kind of "Long Deck" look which was cool. BRT is a good candidate for conversion to an O/B. Here is a photo of one for sale on LI now.

Well reading this post I saw the yellow outboard version. That hull I have intimate knowledge of.
The 24 BRT mold was junk even before it was or was not cut in half. Mike Becall's last build in that mold ruined it. He was working in a construction company's repair/maintenance facility i.e. dirty and lots of diesel fumes. They had waxed the mold the previous evening and in the morning they wiped the down with rags, some were used with acetone the day before removing splotches of the release wax. Unknowingly built the boat and could not get it out of the mold. So forcing the issue damaged the new hull and delaminated the mold. Sure some one could have fixed it but who know why it got cut in half know Mike. The 27 signature mold has some good racing history behind it. Two I have seen on the race course with me were Lady L (sank during a tow in to the Merrimack River at the Newburyport Grand Prix.) This boat was blue and white. The other was an all red one called Empty Pockets, this boat separated the hull and deck at a Key West Worlds one year. I believe they recovered the hull only. That hull was at Mike's place last time I saw it. |

The yellow BRT in the above post was recored at Mike's under close super vision. The boat was painted here with Awlgrip. Rigged with a Porta bracket and mounted the tabs flat. It was a two seat sit down.
|
That picture was at a Barneget Bay race. If you look close you can see Mr Technology and Progression race teams.
|
Billy Mauff used to race one back in 87-90 before delaminating during the montauk boat race.the boat was never recovered it was red and white?
The name was low bid? Anyone remember that one.Happened to be out there at the time. |
Low Bid was a single stern drive. Cool little boat. Ran A class.
