Apache Predator P-2 Raceboat
Does anyone have any information on this Apache? Engines, drives, and top speed? This boat was incedible on the circuit last year.

Re: Apache Predator P-2 Raceboat
I know they were running Cheif engines and the sound of this boat was amazing! I believe they had the boat proped for the bracket they were racing in but it is capable of higher speeds. Overall it is an awesome boat and the team looked to be having a blast last year.

Just some of what he was saying... Boat weighs 25,000 lbs $17,000 swim platform Ventilated crankshafts I kind of got the feeling he was making it up as he went. I was half expecting hime to say "...these go to eleven" |
Re: Apache Predator P-2 Raceboat
He doesn't make up anything about that boat. Seen it and the detail and the prices are right. You should try to have something custom done and see what it cost!!!!

25K Lbs? and, what are ventilated crankshafts? I forgot the one about the deck hardware being heat treated. |

Dude, why are you such a tool??A ventilated crank means exactly that, they are running the positive crankcase ventilation out through the hull, so the PSI's don't pressurize the blocks. I have no doubt of the weight with fuel, knowing what people that know Mark McManus know he has no problem building a heavy boat. I would tend to think that the pullout bolsters and riding with an additional set would add a couple hundred right off the bat. The fact that there are spare props for 3 motors, complete snap on tool boxes.etc etc etc...I have seen you say some really stupid things on here, but now you are telling the us that the dude that wrote the check has no clue...you're frigging unbelievable...
McManus quotes the boat at 15,700 with a full cabin. My guess is the builder knows. Probably not as much as you, though. |

Re: Apache Predator P-2 Raceboat
Elias keeps referring to his Drag Racing career in the video. Does anyone know what he did in that profession?

Re: Apache Predator P-2 Raceboat
The Spirit of Apache is one bad a$$ boat!
All the other videos are sweet too! Makes you realize how tuff it is when your race these bad boys. |

Re: Apache Predator P-2 Raceboat
Weights were done on a truck scale with and without trailer. Do some checking on a mustang called category 5 and 6. I've seen the bills and was watching the whole process!
The 47 Apache can vary huge on weights. His and Paleface are two of the heaviest just look at them sitting in the water. Same goes for the weights on the 41 Apache boats. All the Cigarette staggered 38 90mph boats were supposed to weigh around 9,500, yet mine weighed 12,458 on a scale. Back then it all depended on what they built it for. Take one look at the boat up close and you might have a different opinion. |

Re: Apache Predator P-2 Raceboat
That boat is incredible , very well thought out options. I can see it weighing 23,000 lbs easily!

no, wrong again, Spirit is running brave redone.... He did so much to it and changed so much he Mr Mcmanus gave it a 06 HIN, so the price tag would reflect an 06 not whatever year running brave was.

No, this is the one that had so many new custom ideas going into it that it was better to build a brand new hull and start with a clean sheet of paper.

Not a single 47 apache ever weighed 15,700 lbs. Kemeosabe was very light at 17,500. NK |

Neat boat but the owner was sort of clueless.

I was half expecting hime to say "...these go to eleven" Unsure of what the boat weighs. But with all the running hardware, custom one off items, it's probably very close on the trailer. He pulls it, so I'm sure he would know. Wasn't uncommon for the old school 47s to be anywhere from 19-22k pounds on the trailer... Ever run a custom CNC program on anything? That started as a solid chunk of aluminum, and was machined down. It all had to be designed, and then hand programmed into the CNC machine(s). Then you've also got that huge bad ass one-off Apache logo. Have any knowledge of how an internal combustion engine works? A PCV (Positive Crankcase Ventilation) system is needed to expell hydrocarbons, watervapor/condensation, and blow-by. IE, unburnt gases that "blow-by" the rings and into the crankcase. The heat treated BS he spoke about, pertains to powdercoating itself. Powdercoating involves baking items in an oven, for a set amount of time, at certain temperature(s). Finalyzing the powdercoat with a finish normally as bright, and stronger than regular paint. |
