If the drivetrain is as strong as they say, this is a $200k boat. Then throw in another $25k for the history.
Hmmmm...college fund???

Anyone know when the paint change was made? In the race video it was gold/brown and the current state it is blue.[/QUOTE]

No paint change ! The color is off in the video.Still has the orignal TAN deck, BLUE hull.
It`s the real Warpath! Slight changes to the deck lettering, but the graphics are origanal.
That old boat still takes my breath away !...........G

This is probably the boat you're thinking of. I believe it was the first Warpath- the blue one being the second. I also believe it has been repainted.

Warpath was a 3 pack until Jay (current owner) bought the boat and had Bobby S. completely restore it. It's now got a five pack.
If I can sell one of my kidneys I'll own it by the weekend :D

Re: "The Apache" can be had for $135K

I have the Apache Offshore Challenge race guide from the 1985 Miami to Bimini race, and that boat is flying high on the cover. That boat is really sweet. The date on the cover is October 19, 1985. It was ranked 14 in the open class and had only 200 points with Ben driving at the time. There's also a cool pic of the boat on a 5th wheel target trailer behind the matching peterbuilt truck.
All I have to do is convince my Dad that we need to sell the Cig and buy this piece of offshore history.:D:D

Maybe, its time to come out of retirement, Hans. That boat would look good on you.

That boat is the REAL DEAL! It's "been there & done that" over and over again. What a great buy. Like most of you, I hope whoever acquires it keeps it looking great AND joins OSO to keep us up to date.

Has anyone from OSO actually put an offer on this beast yet? I know I want to.....

Re: "The Apache" can be had for $135K

I am ready to submit a bid and once it is accepted I will install my customization package:

1. Replace those KE engines with a pair of Briggs & Stratton w/ optimized thruffle nuts and ka-nooten valves, high overlap franistans, and low extraction convergence filters.
2. Install double fudge packer exhaust systems with silencer screens.
3. Convert trim pumps to energy efficient sunflower seed power modules
4. Have Apache logo painting on side changed to match “Village People”
5. Install 24 sets of hamster power driven eco friendly power generators for trim pumps- hence the sunflower seeds.

Boat will be ready for display at 2008 Democratic National Convention with Obama at throttles and Hillary as Driver- Bill navigating except when near a Hooters.

It all comes down this. Do you want to have a boat for sale or do you want to sell a boat.
