If you want one I know where one is. '85 new interior, no motors or drives. Very straight.

I have been searching for a 39' Aronow USA Cat hull for conversion to a triple outboard express fish. Any info on location of one?

Don originally cut a 36 foot Cigarette hull in half and added the wing in between and a platform off the back to get to 39. Willy Myers, who was my throttle man, did a lot of the development work on this boat. A boat was built for the around Britain race and powered with diesels. They guy finished the race, but he was way back.....however shortly after that, Willy and Tim Powell leased it from him and raced it in the Cowes Torquay race and placed second.

Don told anyone that was buying one, that it was NOT developed to be raced. He had in mind more of a platform to haul military gear. He and Don Shead developed another big cat like boat, called the Aronow SES (Surface Effect Ship) that was strictly military.

He also made a smaller version of this same cat inthe 27 or 28 foot range that he powered with outboards. He bought a 24 foot hull from me for a plug that he cut in half and did the smme thing and had that boat running over 100 mph with outboards.

Don was awarded the contract to build these 39 cats for the government as the blue thunder boats that the DEA used. They were big and tough, but they were not fast.

Thanks for the info. The photo of the boat you attahed is a Non- Stadard ex Navy Seal Boat from Norfolk VA. Use to have diesels w, surface drives. Just under 10' beam and a flat running surface. Checked it out in person .Thanks again, the search continues!

Beautiful boat, I would hate to modify it. Too much power for offshore fishing use. DID I SAY TOO MUCH POWER? I'm getting old!

I have considered keeping stern drive power and lowering the sun pad and adding two engine boxes. Looking too add bracket w/ triple outboards to open cockpit fishing space and utilize entire seating area. DID I SAY TOO MUCH POWER?
Thanks, Tony.
