Whose Cat at Daytona Speedway?
Watching Fox and Daytona 500 testing, there is a 30-32 cat with Mountain Dew banners on the back. Anyone know the boat?
|
It is an Eliminator 28. They haven't been able to get past 70. Running out of water. Its hard to believe that with all the builders around there that they get a west coast boat:rolleyes:
|
pretty smart if you ask me, will see more tv time than any other builder that will be at Miami

I think it came about because Eliminator uses "Daytona" as a line of boats. |

It is a 28' Eliminator Daytona with 710 Illmor motors. They are running my props on it...they are 28p 5 blade maximus. The idea behind running such a small prop with that setup was to try and get the boat above 100 m.p.h. and bang the rev. limiters as fast as possible. D. Waltrip better not ding my props...lol

I'm here in Daytona for my job. It's a cool boat to. I don't think they'll let DW drive it.

Full Wrap on the Eliminator 28 at Daytona
Hey guys, it's Kim at The Graphics Company, Eliminator 28.
Bob came to us with this project and asked us to do the almost full wrap on this boat using Darrell Waltrips Mountain Dew Graphics. What a great project! Almost as exciting as Tanks project huh, Tank. And Yes the sponsons were a challenge. The boat turned out great!!!! We used 3m material with 3m lam. |

And for the record, we got the boat to do a 108 mph in Lake Lloyd. The boat accelarated like crazy.. the mid range was unbelievable... Some of you may not know but Lake Llyod is about 3 football fields long by one football field wide. It is very tight. Driving a Cat in that kind of condition is a thrill and a rush. I put the 5 blades on and the boat barely bangin the revs... you have to back off the throttle little over half way. I put a pair of 26 pitch lab bravos and hit the revs at half lake but by that time the boat was already hitting a 100 mph. I will be back to post some pictures. |
Eliminator had their own tent set up at the race. They had two boats in the tent, a 28' and a 26' I think. Nice looking boats. It was good to see a powerboat company at the races.
