dyno 01-08-2002 02:29 PM

I think you and Wade can handle that without me....I'll come down when you start assembling....

Crazyhorse 01-08-2002 03:04 PM

Dyno, you wuss. Don't wanna do the grunt work, just the fun stuff. I'll save the intakes for ya to scrape. :D :D

Waterfoul 01-08-2002 04:28 PM

Can't make it tonight Dave. Gotta call Flylevel and run out to visit my boat.

Crazyhorse 01-08-2002 05:01 PM

KAAMA, call my cel, 403-3962.

Crazyhorse 01-09-2002 09:27 AM

Good to see you yesterday KAAMA. Got anything going Thursday evening? How long did you after I left?

KAAMA 01-09-2002 08:16 PM

Dave, i was there for maybe 5 minutes after you left...nice people. I just might show up on Thursday night.

Crazyhorse 01-10-2002 09:35 AM

Ok. I'll figure on being there Thurs. night. I can clean head bolts and oil pans. Waterfoul, are you available? If I don't have to work Saturday I'll probably do a bottom end on engine #1. KAAMA, did yu contact that guy we talked about?

[ 01-10-2002: Message edited by: Crazyhorse ]

KAAMA 01-10-2002 10:20 AM

Crazy, yeah I talked to him...nice fella. I will talk more about it with you tonight.

Crazyhorse 01-10-2002 12:13 PM

Super V's shop isn't far from the Riverview airport. Maybe a short hop in a four-seat Cherokee? Waterfoul, you listening?

Crazyhorse 01-11-2002 12:18 PM

KAAMA, good to see you last night. I'll be at Super V's Saturday morning after I meet a guy at Rainbow Grill for coffee at 8 am.I'm planning on getting engine #1 assembled.

Waterfoul 01-11-2002 04:57 PM

So, rainbow grill at 8:00 then?? Got room for another Dave? And, if possible I would like to pick up that cherry picker Saturday too, my motor is being pulled on Sunday!!! I tried to call you after work tonight. No answer. Gimme a call on the cell.

Crazyhorse 01-11-2002 11:15 PM

W.F., unfortunately I didn't get home until now. Give me a call in the morning and I'll be at Super V's shop where you can pick up the picker and bring me coffee. :D :D

BGIII 01-11-2002 11:19 PM

Hey Crazyhorse, is SuperV's shop in G-ville? You Fly out of Jenison?

Crazyhorse 01-11-2002 11:22 PM

Super V's shop is slightly southeast of Hudsonville. Yes, I fly out of Riverview. I'm thinking about going up tomorrow if the weather isn't too crappy. I only need 900 foot ceilings to go play.

BGIII 01-11-2002 11:26 PM

Southeast of Hudsonville sounds a lot like Jamestown. That's were I'll be tommorrow morning, pulling an engine. Good luck w/ the weather. How're the engines coming along?

Crazyhorse 01-11-2002 11:34 PM

I'll get one together tomorrow. Super V's place is close to where 22nd Street crosses Barry St. You yanking your motor? Or helping someone else?

BGIII 01-11-2002 11:40 PM

Sounds like SuperV might be in the produce business. I'm pulling a Cherokee motor in the morning and hoping to pull my boat motor in the afternoon if a friend of mine is available so I can use the overhead hoist in his shop. Did you tell me an 850 Holley would be too big for a 454? What about a World Products single plane intake?

Crazyhorse 01-12-2002 12:15 AM

I like the 850 on the 454's. I prefer the dual-plane intake because it makes more low and midrange power than the single-plane intakes (longer runners). Dyno has dual-plane, Super V has single-plane. Otherwise they have about the same engines. Don't be fooled by the volumetric efficiency calculations. Marine engines can run over 100 percent VE. I'm going to bed. Call me tomorrow if you get a chance. 403-3962.

dyno 01-12-2002 01:50 PM

BGIII I ran both a single plane and a dual plane on my roller 502 and liked the dual better.....sold the single to JimV, he might still have it...it is an oval port my motor didnt turn over 5200 so the single plane did'nt help any and I lost some bottom end.
