I have a 6800# that is currently listed with Dock realty. The Brand is Carvel and it is a few years old. It can be had for much less than a polylift. It is currently sitting at the 20.5 mm. Pm me if you want the ad number on dock realty.

Do I have to buy one currently fit for the size slip I have, or can I re-fit it? First lift....always trailered before.

The one that I have is for a 10' wide slip. If you go to www.dockrealty.com it will say if the lift is set up for a 10' a 12' or either. I just sold an 8,000# poly lift through them and then purchased a 12,000# and the everything has been seemless.

I actually talked the installer they use the other day and he said my new lift is going in this week. They also went the extra mile and got a quote from the installer to remove my transom platform from the old lift and refabricate it to fit the larger tanks on my new one.

Hopefully this helps you out.

One other note is if your slip gets a lot of wave action make sure you get a beefier lift. I will tell you straight up that the one I have for sale is not suitable for main channel wave action and would be best back in a cove or in a slighlty more protected area.

Where's your place at?

We are off DD closer to indian point than K city. Several hundred yards off the main channel....but waves can find a way back there. I think HD is safer than not....and justified as far as $$$ goes.

I agree 100%. That is why I went with the 12,000# Polylift rather than one of the cheaper brands. Good luck in your search. Dave Hotz at dock realty is great to work with and the installer he uses (jason) also seems to be very reliable.

How easy are they to re-fit for a larger boat given you are still within the weight limits? And if I use a myco cradle w/ the lift can those be re-fit for a longer boat?
