baywatch 02-14-2007 08:00 PM

anybody got the b-max's behind diesel power?

Ca$hed Out 02-14-2007 08:02 PM

PM docmanrich. He whippled his 525's and saw a huge increase in speed. Then he added b-max's and lost almost all of it :(

Back4More 02-14-2007 08:15 PM

I had problems in the begining with 1 o-ring always leaking due to an outdated rear cap...make sure you buy ones with the newer rear cap.
I run 800hp though mine and they have held up where as the IMCO's did not.

I'm running them behind 750 Cobras on my cat, a few little issues but for the most part they've worked fine. They ARE the strongest "shiftable" drive.

Your running a Talon right?? A guy I know had them on his with 575's and blew about 6 I think, in only one year. He then had Hustler convert it to Six's. Good luck!!

Tazz 02-14-2007 09:17 PM

Talons are hard on drives but mine has been ok so far, another guy up here has a Talon with 575/ XR's and has been breaking gimbal rings, but as far as I know the drives have been ok. # 6's are the way to go obviously, but big $ and not shiftable.

Why would anybody be unhappy, I think a year is reasonable amount of time to wait for drives:rolleyes: :evilb:

It's been over a year, stir that pot....I even offered to go pick them up for him, save both parties shipping, cause that's the kinda guy I am:D

FTN40- I think I remember that Hustler, a 50 from Chicago. He had run a 47 outer while it was on order. We fixed a fuel pump for him on the 50 at a poker run, got him going then it broke a drive before the end of the run (B-Max). He was a very nice guy as I remember.

If somebody has been waiting for a year, there is obviously more to the story...

Panther 02-15-2007 06:05 PM

I waited about 2 months for mine, which was about a month longer than promised..

Anyway, I had IMCO's and was blowing them up left and right. I haven't blown anything up with these drives so far.

But, this all makes me worried about customer service if I ever break one.... :(

I ordered the bmax ht's and waited 4 months for them, which was 2 months later than I was told, but isn't that the boating industry? I bought a 388 slingshot w/ blower motors and blew two drives in three weeks. Imco vertical shaft the first time, and prop shaft on the other drive the next weekend. Had the b-maxes on for 15 hours and no problems at all. I have had great service after the sale unlike some other people. Once I got over the delivery delay, they were definitely worth the wait. I don't think anything can compare that is shiftable. The lowers are still the weak link. The uppers are bulletproof. I suffered no speed loss after I got the props dialed in w/ brett @ b-blades.

ive had good results the service from them. i purchased my drives used, they have always sent what i needed quickly.
