Post Life Jacket recertification

Wondering if anyone knows if Life Line Jackets still have to be recertified after three years. Thanks for any help.

Xtream air yes they do. You can send them back in for the Re-cert.

Nickslick: Spoken like some one that has never had to pay for one of these damn things. About 350 bucks if I remember correctly!!

Audiofn, Thanks for getting back with that information. I will send the jackets out for re-cert being that they are now 3yrs old. Would you have any idea of how long lifeline takes to recert?? Thanks again.

I am not sure. Call them up. I seem to remember that it was every three years. I am sure that if you check APBA's web site that there is something in the rules. Call them up however, they will definatly know the time frames and the procedure.

They are closer to $500 each now. And last time I spoke to them, (last year) it was not cheep for recert. Plus the turn around is not fast, I would send it now and beat the rush.

Good luck

Recertifications are (I think) $125.00 each, they clean the jackets, service the zippers and put a new cert-tag on them.

A lot cheaper than buying new ones and (assuming you don't have capsule jackets) there are no significant changes to the new ones.

Thanks for all the replies. Jackets will be on there way this week for recert. I also remember seeing something in an old APBA rules book about recert every 3 yrs. The 2002 rule book doesn't seem to mention it, unless i'm not looking in the right spot. Any way.....Jackets are on there way...THANKS!!
