My dad did the exact same thing in Jersey with his 36' Chris Craft.
If the water was up, like a full moon high tide, then then it would be very easy to get that far into the marsh. When dad did his grounding the tide was high, full moon, but we didn't get quite that far. After the tide went out we had 12'+ of dry ground behind the transom.
That's one very expensive lesson in navigation.

I'd like to see how they got the boat out of there.
Dad had to pay to have a channel dredged and a barge/crane to come lift ours out.
