Hi Dave,
Long time, no post! Sorry to hear about Pete. I know you will never forget him. We had a wonderful cat for 13 years that got lung cancer about 7 years ago and we still remember her. The best thing to do though is get another and love that one, too. Your new girl looks very cute. I love to hear about people rescueing abused animals and giving them a good home. Very cool thing to do. Good luck.

Congratulations!!!!!!
Rescuing an abused pet is the best thing anyone can do.
All our cats have been strays or abused pets. One cat we have is a female Calico that was dumped outside the high school my daughter attended. She has only one eye and was so skinny, just a bag of bones. So under nourished that she looked 6 months younger that she was. Growth was stunted too.
Another cat we have was born wild and the ex spotted him as two jerks tried to feed him to a gator. He was just a kitten.
The list goes on and on.
I wish more people would take in homeless pets.

my two clowns. seven toed brothers from our local SPCA. 6 months old the other day. nothing but Science Diet for them! (heads-up I was an Iams feeder for years, have discovered they do HEAVY animal testing, I will not support that) I've had alot of housecats over the years, as many as 4 at a time, and my folks have always been cat crazy as well. They've had 3 pass in the last couple years, all 19 and 20 years old and pretty dam healthy right to the end if that tells you anything about the quality of life and care we give.

Dave and Barb congratulations on the new family addition. This pup could not have found two better parents than you guys. I know you must still be missing Pete, but I bet Maggie is helping you fill the hole in your hearts. Hope to see you this summer, maybe Kirby and Maggie can be friends
