Boat Security

A friend sent me the link for this GPS tracking unit and it looks like it would work well for boats. Some of the other tracking devices like Lo-Jack are not available in some areas, but it looks as though this device would work pretty much anywhere. I figure that you could put it in "pet mode" so that a little motion does not send a message to you, but if the boat breaks a set perimeter it will notify you. Wire it to a 12 volt source to keep the battery charged and just turn it on whenever you leave the boat. Looks like it might work.

STERNLOCK is going to have a marine GPS tracking system available shortly.

I was looking through a cruiser magazine and ran across an add for a company called SeaKey. The offer a monitring/security device that will monitor the boat while underway or docked, provide security and tracking data anywhere. Sort of like OnStar for boats. Need help, activate the SeaKey system and help will be summoned. Boat stolen, SeaKey will track it's movements and report it's location in real time.
