Action Marine boats

I just heard of this boat company today looking through some ads. Looks like they build high-performance outboard boats. Anyone familiar with them?

I saw an 18' from 1990 in the classifieds with a 200 Merc on it, what kind of speeds would you expect with this setup?

these boats have been around for years they are a fun little boat and are built in south fl, great little ski boat, bay boat, lake boat, great haul azz boat. That boat should at least 75-80 mph..

Yeah, it looks like somebody has started using the molds again. My parents use to know the original (I think) builder back in the late 70s early 80s. I think the molds have changed hands a few times since.
My stepfather had one 17 or 18' with a merc 200; easy 70mph boat back then. but there's not much boat to begin with and they blew over pretty easy. We used to go from Stuart to the Keys to watch 'em race.

Frontline Industries, Tom Pearson, in Oxford Mass has the molds for the 18' Action Marine. They've got a few running single seaters/light lay-up running 100+ Several years back Hot Boat mag did a story on them.

If I am not mistaken they made them in incraments of 1 foot from 17-20' & I could be wrong but it seems like I have heard that the 18 used to be the fastest. I remember as a kid growing up in the Keys there were several down there that were scary fast. they look mean sitting in the water ( very nose high ) & they ride at about the same angle. I am shure they are a real drivers boat.
Someone on here had a real nice one forsale a while back that had been updated with nice offshore style sitdown seats & monster gauges. The boat was yellow & was without a doubt the nicest action I had ever seen. I belive it was someone from Stainless marine's boat ( But I am not shure )
You should get some good feedback about those boats here because I am shure there are quite a few members from south FL that have either had one or maybee even been passed by one on a Very calm day.

Thanks for the great info guys. This one in the ad was going for $7K, is this ballpark for this boat ('90 with 200 Merc)?

i would think around 5k would be more realistic, im looking at one now a 20 ft for $2500 a 90 200 is worth 3000 maybe
