Offer: 40k for a 1996 47 Lightning?

I am asking 139k. 120 original hours, boat is in excellent condition on a Myco.

LaBout offered me 40k for this boat. Should I take it?

Is it just me or is that a really low ball offer?

Fenderjack 03-04-2007 03:49 PM

umm that kinda sounds like a kick in the ballz to me...

Sick Stinger 03-04-2007 03:57 PM

Dude u seel it for 40 lol ill give u 45

LapseofReason 03-04-2007 04:05 PM

Yes it's a low ball big time, I had a Big Dealer offer me about 70k for my 50 Nortech, and after I called him on it he said all he was going to do is haul it to FL. and make about 50k on it.

I my opp. a lot of the boat dealers out there are azzholes, they rather make a ton of money on one deal and not get a customer for life, and make good money on a bunch of deals over the years.

I am still looking for a dealer that will sell a boat to you one year and offer more than half of what you paid two years later in trade.

johnnyboatman 03-04-2007 04:07 PM

put me in for 70.000

no different than a car deal.....hold out its a buyers market:cool:

Well this is a deal killer - Joey griffen Package. :evilb: :evilb:

He was just seeing how desperate you were. I know a guy that purchased a Fountain for less then half what the guy was asking. Ya never know how bad some one may want to sell something. Ussually however, after a few min of talking to a seller you can figure it out. I am sure that he knows that this is a buyers market and he is going around offering rediculous low balls hopeing to steel a boat from some one.

This sort of thing happens often when you are keen to sell and advertise that all serious offers will be considered. You would think that saying "serious offers" would exclude ones that are less than 30% of the asking price but some jackasses still have the nerve to come up with stuff like this. The funny thing is, one time I actually accepted an offer like this just to see what will come out of it and nothing did, never heard from the guy again!

And that really says it all, people making such offers are not real buyers and are usually not really interested in doing business at all. Thus, tell him that he is free to waste his own time but that he should stop wasting yours!!!

Funny, It wasn't an hour later that someone called and we made a deal. I am so glad that I didn't take his offer. LOL

I asked him if he was serious, and his reply was "dead serious!"

It's like that old saying: If you ask a million girls to do it with you, one of them is bound to say yes. This guy has 999,999 more boat owners left to lowball...

mcraymond3 03-06-2007 07:56 AM

ctadams21,

That's funny, but true!

runafever 03-06-2007 08:37 AM

Put me down for 80klol I have seen that boat. Sweet ride and one of the cleanest 47s on the market. I think it hauls the mail too!
