Very sorry to hear this. That is too close to home.

Life Vest will save your life.

Please be responsible.

I've boated 15 years now and have never worn my lanyard...UNTIL NOW!!! I've been on OSO all winter reading different threads and have a whole new outlook on this...I've been lucky and I'll take that as enough of a warning...I'm ordering better lifevests also...that's terrible:(

You're exactly right. I never run on plane without my lanyard hooked up. I also find myself wearing my vest more and I am in the process of ordering a couple of Lifeline vests for seious running. I am also getting new sets of ski-type vests for all the poker runs.

This is sad: you could be the most experienced driver, swimmer and be in perfect condition but when your dealing with cold water a boat thats in motion when you fall out there is to many opsticles fighting against you. even a lanyard could have saved him if the boat shutdown he would have been able to hang on to the boat. If there is one thing I try to express at the Marina is please were your lanyard at all times when a boat is in operation.

That´s really sad. There really are enough examples of this sort of thing happening to people just like you and me, and it should remind us all about the responsiblity take the wheel of a boat.

This could have happened to me, when I first got my Outlaw......

Buy automatic lifevests. enough for the full crew. Just get used to putting them on as you idle out of the marina. As you get to the marina entrance click in the lanyard. Only release it when you get back into the marina.
It took me about three or four weekends to get used to it, and now something feels wrong when I´m not clicked in.

I´m very sorry for the family and paricularly for the young lady.

Very sad I don't like to hear thing like this.
Kills & vests save lives.

I assume they are still searching. I have seen numerous boats and helicopters in the air this morning. I saw this boat pass the house in the late afternoon on thursday. Seems they were out for a nice afternoon cruise. Only the survivor will know what happened. God Bless the young lady and the families of the young man.
