Seas are going to be 4-6 so it may be a rough 50 mile ride!

cowisl 03-19-2007 05:25 PM

Should be interesting!

otis311 03-19-2007 05:57 PM

Tanner, I am not going to take my boat, if I go at all

tanner 03-19-2007 06:10 PM

My buddy runs the 39 ft. Midnight Expresses for the US Customs here in Lauderdale. They have kidney belts and mouth pieces on board for the rough stuff.. will just borrow the belt ...and buy my own mouth piece !!

Not worried about you but those Bravos may pay the price!
If you come up Saturday the lunch stop is 1st bridge south of Boynton Inlet and it is the first stop on the itinerary so you could start the run there.

tanner 03-19-2007 06:37 PM

may not be a bad idea ! Thanks JS

BAJA WILL 03-19-2007 07:33 PM

Well be out running in a new 35 yellow/black Baja. Keep an eye open, we will probably stay most around Ft Laud:drink:

Tanner, If its a following sea, you wont have any problems what so ever with 4-6 foot seas. There is a reason that they put the no #1 on the side of that boat.

tanner 03-19-2007 07:48 PM

True, my first real time out in the new cig for me, remember I am coming off of a 35 fountain ( 32 boat) and I stayed drier at wet n wild with my son than I did in 3-5 's with the fountain.

If you want and I have the time Ill run up there with you in your boat. The boat has no bad characteristics and you will notice a huge difference in attitude and handling once out in the rough stuff. Its a simple run up there to WPB. I believe that there are two inlets in between Hillsboro and WPB if it is too much for you

TeamTaboo 03-19-2007 08:12 PM

I will start the run in Boynton also so meet me at the Banana Boat at about 11am the boats should be in about 11:30 or so.

My post was meant in total gest. :D

Great pic, but kind of nose high. It all depends on the conditions at that moment, and the sequence in that stretch.

I know you are the messiah of Active Thunders!:drink: Radio Active will be there but Bill doesn't run that boat real hard so my guess is he will do the run on the ICW. The gap between inlets is 12-15 miles so if you do run outside it shouldn't be that bad of a beating. Weather could change too by Saturday.

CasinoRunner 03-21-2007 11:16 PM

Anyone have a map of the WPB run that they could post?

Loan Ranger 03-22-2007 03:50 PM

I am at the Palm Beach Boat Show and it is blowing like crazy.

I went by the beach in Boca this morning, and it didnt look too bad, the winds have calmed down, at least for now. looked like 3-4' 1/2 mile out. I wouldnt take the 24 out there, but you guys in cigs should be OK if it stays this way.

CasinoRunner 03-23-2007 12:08 PM

Did tanner decide to make the run today?

otis311 03-23-2007 03:20 PM

My old man called and they ran from Lauderdale to WPB on the outside...apparently it was a blast! See u guys tomorrow morning

tanner 03-25-2007 05:13 PM

Ran from lauderdale to Boca Inlet friday afternoon and then came in, around 5-7 footers.. took it easy.. New drive was installed Thurs afternnon and ran great. Poker run was run on intracoastal, but not bad, was able to get up on plane several times. Only 20 boats, pretty good weather, and Gino's boat lost an engine on the way back with Larry Goldman at the wheel:eek:
Other than that it was good time!!!
