I was considering selling mine last year with about 20 hours on them (2005). Dealers want to pay about 15K on trade, but there was alot of interest here on the board for around the 20K mark. The problem you will find is that a dealer can buy a 525 with an XR and all the transom hardware for under 30K. (so I was told). Good Luck

Need-the-Speed 03-20-2007 08:10 PM

Last time I checked a real clean nice running 525 with low hours was worth about 3K. Surprisingly, I just so happen to have a check made out in your name for that amount ready to go. :D

wierd. iwas thinking 3k too. i have cash...

r1ver_rat 03-20-2007 10:24 PM

I'll do better, 10K for both!

cuda 03-20-2007 11:18 PM

The only problem with 525s, or any engine, sold for upgrade is you know they were run at full or near full throttle most of their lives. Best to get a very young one.

Good price on low hours (50) 525efi 16 - 20k. 22 is not unreasonably high though. Depends on condition. Just because it has only 50 hours doesn't mean its not abused.

I'd rather have one that wasn't run at full throttle all day long.

carrboy 03-21-2007 12:04 PM

Then obviously it will cost around the price that was already mentioned,35-40k,U can find them for around 10k and they might need 1k put into them at 500hrs...easy math:rolleyes:

berns29scarab 03-21-2007 12:34 PM

how many hours on these and are there any maint records available

hp500efi 03-21-2007 03:45 PM

Did you miss the part that said "new"? What does Merc get for them new? I'm sure it has to be over $22500. I don't really know.

Downtown42 03-22-2007 11:14 AM

One pair is rebuilt with 0 hrs and the other pair says 2.5 hrs.
