" 1987 Formula 275SR1
Vehicle Description

I am listing this boat for my brother and I don’t know anything about this item. Information available by contacting Anthony 631-849-4078 "

That line pretty much sums up the seller .

pshannon 03-25-2007 10:48 AM

Yeah but you think the brother would atleast give him a realistic speed....:D :D

bouyhunter 03-25-2007 10:59 AM

Yeah, I don't think it's gonna make the "century" club, but still looks like a pretty nice package.
Only $12,600 now, but reserve not met - it may go reasonable.

glassdave 03-25-2007 11:23 AM

well . . . i'm a bit sceptical on the century mark but i would be willing to bet that thing does get with the program pretty good though. lotta motor for not alotta boat :D. that series hull isnt really a great boat over 70, i always did like 'em though

cuda 03-25-2007 12:14 PM

At least he got one thing right, that he doesn't know anything about the item. You'd think he would at least get the model right. I take it that it's a 292. 100 mph? Not a chance, but someone has dropped some serious cash in it. Nice looking boat.

TSPM 03-25-2007 01:50 PM

If anyone is serious about the boat ....... we are very close by and could take a look at it for you.

duunoit 03-25-2007 04:08 PM

according to the questions, he is looking for more than $25k...

pshannon 03-25-2007 04:08 PM

Hey Cuda, you definetley have that right, someone dropped some cash in it,did you notice the K-planes on the back, also I think it's a 272....I just splashed mine today, took her down the river into annapolis harbor:evilb: .Ran great the first time out, just noticed that the starbord engine heated up a little :( not to bad but got to around 180 degrees and stayed their.I thinking thermostat,I'm going to post up in the formula section...

TEAMBAJA 03-25-2007 04:42 PM

First thing I check when engine temp starts to fluctuate. Also simplest fix next to a leaky hose.

Do you have sea strainers? If so, checked that they don't need emptied. My 302 had one engine running warm, and the strainer was almost full of real fine shells and sand. Cleaned it out, and no problems afterwards.

GLH 03-25-2007 06:43 PM

... picture of the 100 MPH run... the boat is a little hard to spot...

They wil be low in the bilge, follow the line back from the seawater pump. Not all Formula's came with them, I'm sure they were an option. My 302 had the Kaama option, which came with a lot more things than just surface drives. 280 trim tabs, full hydraulic steering to name a couple.

I thought I had a picture of them, but I can't find it.

hunster 03-26-2007 08:46 AM

Had my 29 scarab up to 91 . Thought it had a bit more but the speed limiter on the ford sd I was towing it with kicked in .

cig1988 03-27-2007 05:26 AM

I know this boat very well. Cuda...this is the boat I was talking about when I saw ya last week. It does have extremly low hours and there is ALOT of coin it it. IMO that boat is extremly clean for the age. And yes it is a nightmare to work on. If someone wanted to upgrade thier boat to big power it would be a good candidate for a power swap. Anthony hardly used the boat since he has owned it for the last 3 years and has maintained it very well. I know the previous owner as well.
If anyone is interested email me & will be happy to help you. There is a majic number which I will not make public.
