http://www.custommarinesales.com/cla...page=out&id=95

looks nice!!!

or is this the stepped one that they filled in?

Nykamp 03-27-2007 10:25 PM

Thats the last one from the Bobby, filled in I believe, originally ordered by Scalptaker and then passed on after the Thad problems. I saw it by Spinakers a couple of weeks ago and it looked nice. The other 2 36's CMS has for sale would be great boats to own.

I like the different seats.

SKRAMER 03-28-2007 07:16 AM

I love it!!!!!!!

baja27 03-28-2007 07:55 AM

Why did they fill in the step? Wouldn't that hamper the ride characteristic?

Nykamp 03-28-2007 08:05 AM

Thet all ride good steps or non, there are only 2 single step 36's and they run really nice.

dreamer 03-28-2007 08:40 AM

Back in 2004 when I was looking Bobby sent me information on two step bottom 36's that had staggered 575's. Boats ran low 80's and I believe Canada Jeff has a step bottom. There was also the F-2 raceboat step bottom and one that was in Texas that I know of... So that makes at least 5 that I know about...

Nykamp 03-28-2007 09:10 AM

Haven't seen any for sale for awhile but I here they also ride great.

So, out of curiosity...

Are these 'filled in steps' just solid filler material/urethane with fiberglass and gelcoat over them? Or were the hulls completely cut apart with new stringers and new hull core laid for the aft portion/transom of the boat?

Were these the ones with the backward facing step built around 1999-2000?

I'm just ( Guessing ) here but most of the Apache guy's / oldschool like a boat with no steps so I'm assuming it was ordered that way. Hopefully they had plugs for the mold
just like for a notched transome, that ya can add or remove
for different customer request.

I'm sure someone on here know's.

last apache

To my knowledge, my boat is the last apache-like boat made by bobby with steps and a reverse chine. It runs fantastic in the rough stuff as shown at smoke on the water.

Its for sale as I'm not sure that I would want to afford the fuel for it over here in London at $8 a gallon and I think that the Thames racing stripe would be a lot worse than the Grand River racing stripe.

Anyone interested in owning the last one, let me know.
