Brownie's Book
Last year, I put off procastinating until this year. Now it is this year and I am thinking about putting it off again. Anyway, at the rate I am going, I will never finish the book. I have decided instead, to do it in 'dribs and drabs'. I have signed up with Hot Boat Magazine to do a column every month, titled "Tales from Thunderboat Row". I will cover both old time racing and early Hi-perf boatbuilding. You can clip out the columns and paste them together and make your own frickin' book. I have turned in the first story, which will print in the July issue, and it is plenty funny. So there!

Congratulations......... I'll look forward to it with baited breath. If anybody can knock off the sacred cows...you can. T2x |
Rich, I must inform you that the proper word is 'bated', which infers anxious waiting. 'Baited' refers to fishing. On second thought........................................... ........
|
Brownie:
I don't care if you put it on T.P. and send it to Hot Boat. But, we want some pictures too!!! Seriously, for those of us that missed the birth and growth of offshore racing we are starved for information, stories, facts, probably some fiction (or at least some stretching of the facts), and other flotsam and jetsom. as my name implies Wannabe |
Great its the easiest way to write the book Peter Egan was a writer for a motorcycle magazing and had a column called leanings and after manny years he published a book called Leanings andf it was just all his old columns and he just published leanings 2

Brownie, you sound like me. I was going to join a procrastinator's club, but I never got around to it.
I guess I'm going to have to buy Hot Boat now. |
Sweet! Good Luck!

Brownie tell them about Jim Brueil finishing the NY race naked...yup, folks like no clothes on..... and he didn't plan to do it either. |

. If they run out of duct tape, we can just borrow some from JC :) Brownie, you mean to tell us that there will actually be something in HB magazine worth the effort of reading? Who'd a thunk. |

Look him up. We have both Run Sunward, the movie made about offshore racing in the 60's and SEARACE, the movie of the race from Miami to Nassau and back to Miami that was in the late 80's. There is a free clip of Run Sunward on the HORBA site under the Diamond Anchor Section ....click on Run Sunward. www.historicraceboats.com |
