Poker Run Sponsorship??

Any thoughts on trying to get a company to sponsor your boat to do the poker run circiut?? Maybe enough to cover entry fees, travel expenses, lodging, and fuel. More importantly to cover any repairs from running hard.

What do you think??

Better chance selling rides at runs to help with costs.

Hey, your stealing my idea. :evilb:

I think it could be worked out, after seeing Tanks awsome boat taking shape in Powerboat. Vinyl graphics make this not only possible rather in-expensive.

Purely for example. Met the people behind Ice Age bottled water and XLC, X*24*7 flavoured water drinks. They had a booth beside mine at an Anaheim trade show. I also have a connection with our local major softdrink distributor company with them they let us give out samples at events they sponsor.

If I was not writing up a proposal to do simular with my own company. I would write a prop. to those people above. Part of mine currently is not only the potential numbers of people at these events, helicopter photo shoots, magazine exposure potential, etc.

Events I've done locally:

Apple Blossom Festival: http://www.appleblossom.org/

Ridge to River relay race: http://www.r2r.org/

Tiny Fest: only ran one year and is no longer

So getting more invovled with Poker Runs like those events above really is almost a no brainer for me. My next step is emailing SCOPE and other clubs to see how much it will take to hand out samples at their events.

I if you, would even contact Sobe's, companies like that.......I'm sure they will also see that sponsoring you maybe a no brainer for them; as long as you offer them good exposure for the money. Heck this might even be a good business to build a sports marketing company around....

Find a powerboat enthusiast with no boat and a business. Tell him he can ride with you in a poker run if he pays for everything - as long as you have a vinal sticker advertising his business he should be able to write it off. So he would basically get a tax deduction (adverstising) and get to ride in a poker run.

Better have a cool boat, like 2000 HP +++ with killer paint and a matching tow rig. :D

Don't laugh, some jackazz had the same idea 30-40 years ago to have sponsors on the side of his car so he could afford to race on Sundays !! NASCAR

I had it worked out late last year with an on-line gambling site. The day the first check was going to be sent out was the day they shut them down here in the U.S.. I think that all got worked out in a couple of days, but like I said it was late in the season and I never really pursued it again.
