What ever happened to Platinum Boats?
 

What a shame - The folks built such an awesome cat (Miss Gieco) and they are all split up and moved out. Does anyone know what happened to them?

Note * just the hull - Turbine Marine did EVERYTHING ELSE

Anything left there in Vermilion?

I thought Pete (Skater) bought / acquired the Airborne 55' mold back some time ago?

I saw the hauler for the P1-1 Platinum race team heading down PCH last week.

i heard that as well

wait they cant be done, can they? Platinum Princess was a new boat, and that isnt hardly old...whats the deal?

Spoke to Vernon Gilbert (sound like the money or new owner) last week. He is going to get the molds out of Vermilion and haul them to CAL - but - they will outsource the building of the boats and do the rigging in-house. I worked for Turbine Marine in March for a week and a half. That boat is one of the last. Problem is the cost of building the hull and the real collapse was the two partners split Trost and Dyke. I would guess it was quality (German) against cost...By the way, working for TB marine was HELL
