Hey Rob, I ran mine last weekend again.........kind of getting used to the "no windshield thing" as long as you got good sunglasses. $2000 will buy a lot of beer this summer! I'll PM you when I get a chance to let you know how my new 32p props did.

I think it cracked because of that sharp edge at the bottom where it goes on the deck - it has to be polished, not for looks but because the striations of the grinder at such a sharp place will get a crack started. It will then look for the nearest stress point - the hole - and it's on it's way. Acrylic does expand and contract way more than fiberglass - about 1/8" in the beam of that boat on extreme temp changes. I've seen it both crack or shear mounting bolts on a yacht that went from Lauderdale to NY in winter...
Carlos please call me on the replacement windshield Thanks Rob |
I was looking at your closeup photos, and that looks like a classic fatigue failure. That crack may have been progressing for some time. It looks like the windshield may need more support, or some change to the mounting to reduce the stress.

Could be .I just need to get the replacement one that fits better so its not in a bind. That should help.
