Default Typical Survey Costs?

What can one expect to pay for a survey on a '27 Fountain?

I'm not sure how much of the price is a function of length, but I imagine that they look at all the same features and systems regardless of length, though a bigger boat may require a bit more time examining structure. For my 35' I paid 450 for my survey, he was a SAMS Accredited Marine Surveyor.

I think i paid 350 on my boat. 26' w/o platform. So I imagine you'll be in that ballpark.

Having a performance boat surveyed by someone not familiar with HP is a waste of money. There's huge differences between Cigarettes and Sea Rays. Get ahold of Ed Cozzi here on the boards- he can tell you all.

Survey on a 27' Fountain is $15.00 per foot.
Sea Trial is flat rate $150.00.
Compression test is $150.00 per engine.
Survey includes ECM scan of both engines and moisture meter check of transom, stringers, frames and lateral bulkheads.

Survey also includes full physical check of outdrives, gimbals, props and transom plates.

Be careful. Many sportfish and motoryacht surveyors wouldn't know the difference between an Alpha One or a #6 Dry-sump.
