Unhappy Can Anyone Help????

I am starting to think I am in way over my head.... I started my project with a solid belief that refurbing my Baja would not be that bad...Boy was I wrong!!! The list of things that I need is long and very exspensive. I am pleading to all my OSO brothers to be on the lookout for some things I can't possibly afford new. I am in need of full hyd. steering, an outdrive that can handle 620HP(or parts that I can use to make my original drive stronger), a whole set of gauges, trim tabs, throttle controls, and some decent batteries. I have searched for 2 weeks straight for used parts but I am having no luck. If you have read my "long year" thread you know my situation and I am desperate to find everything I need within my reach. I want to thank all of you that have read my prior posts and have wished me well. I hate asking anyone for anything but I have no choice in this matter. At the rate I am going my boat won't be running until maybe 2009.

Thank you and God bless,
Chuck

Bro,,,

Read your post and what a mess. I'm sure some members from OSO can help keep on the look out for the parts your needing!! Its a long and lenghty process. Keep the faith! You'll get there.

I recall reading what happened to you.
I'm sure if someone has something useful to you they will offer it at a fair price.
You're a step ahead of me - I'm still working on putting enough $$ together to get another boat.
Don't feel so bad for yourself, and keep plugging along.
You'll get there - take your time, and don't cut the corners.

Your problem certainly isn't unique. As I read your wish list, it looks like the parts that everyone with a boat past about 10 years old is looking for as well.

Been a year since I had a ride.
It's been 5 since I ran my own (or any) boat.
I can feel your pain on the "jonesing"

I miss just having a boat in the back yard to f-around with.
Like I said -you're a step ahead of me right now.
You'll get it done. Good Luck
