powerplay 33'
Hi Everyone,
I just recently purchased a PowerPlay 33' sportdeck. However I am having some engine problems which appear fuel related. I am also suspicious that there are some electrical problems as well because the starboard alternator malfunctioned. I am looking for a good Mercruiser mechanic who would be willing to come to the caribbean for a few days to solve my problems. I do not yet have a scan tool but I am working on it. I live on the island of St.Kitts which is 60 miles south of St.Martin or 60 miles west of Antigua and good Mercruiser guys are hard to find. Suggestions welcome

I would start posting questions in the tech section here. Might save you a lot in the long run.
First thing to do is start with all the basics. Replace plugs, cap, rotor, filters.

If they are stock Merc motors, it might not be a bad idea to invest in a scan tool. It will pay for itself.
33 PP's are SWEET, that's one of the boats on my wish list.
Good Luck.

Re: powerplay 33'
Thanks for the responses thus far. Yes, the engines are stock merc's. I am scrambling to get a scan tool so that I could figure out what the heck is going on. In fact a friend came by with a fuel pressure guage and there was no pressure on the port engine and 30 psi on the starboard engine.I will change the fuel filter etc on the weekend. Still need to have access to a good mechanic because, trust me, I am no mechanic, and such a sweet boat needs to be in the water ....quickly.

Just letting every one know that I did a major rebuild on both engines and they are now running fine. I love my Powerplay. It performs beautifully. This is a very good forum and it is a pleasure to be a part of it.
