WE HAVE a WINNER ... Now What ??Trailerring Tilt Switch not working ^$%#

After bringging the Scarab out of the water on Sunday, the trim of the outdrives (both of them) would only move to the "6" range on the indicators (used to go to 9) and the trailer switch would not move them at all. Is there some type of override that might have kicked in or a limit switch not allowing the drives to go up further. Our bayhouse is only 2 miles from the ramp so i was not concerned about dragging the skeg.

Any ideas on what may be causing this?

Check the indicator cable. Might be kinked and bending, instead of moving the indicator.

The drive itself is not moving regardless of the indicator.

check the connection on the trailer switch.maybe just a loose wire.

MarkSmith 05-11-2007 12:07 AM

Could be low on hydralic fluid.

pres the drive trim button and the trailer switch at the same time. If that don't do it look at your wiring.

I was thinking the same thing but that would be unlikely in both pumps.

Pismo10 05-11-2007 02:18 PM

two pumps, two limiters, one switch, its the switch if it effects both drives the same.

I'm heading down to the bay in the morning. will check the switch as it seems the most likely issue. I was really wonderring if there was any type of limit switch.

Thanks all... Will update with resolution.

I forgot all about that on my old boat. Had to do the same thing.
Well Damn - aren't you glad that was easy!

Good luck on the marital problems, mine required an entire replacement. The OEM no longer fit, and I had to find a retro-fit. I've been happy ever since.:D

Not sure if they all work that way but a lot of go-fast boats are rigged that way. Our 30' Sundancer is not rigged that way, but my 26' Scarab is. Glad it worked for you.
