For the record, its not an Active Thunder. It was built by Thunder Powerboats in IL before Pat bought the molds and created Active Thunder in FL.

Its a real shame. The boat was old school badass. There is an older thread in that AT forum when the fire happened with pics and details on the fire. The boat was checked out, and there appears to not be any structural damage. It would need a complete strip and rebuild.
It appears as though a marina now may own it as salvage, but unsure of the details. Regardless, the guy who owned the boat for a long time is an active OSO member and lets try to be respectful of such. He was REALLY tore up when the fire happened, as the fire was his parents business which was completely destroyed.

I hear ya Brian about not ripping him to bad. However at some point REALITY has to set in. The hull is worth ZERO. He would be lucky if some one would take it away. Add up everything that you would need to buy to make it a good boat and you may as well go out and buy one with out any "history".

Brian, couldn't have said it any better. The boat was a real bad ass boat from day one. There were many stories about Running Hot while I worked at Active Thunder. Alot of set-up detail & knowledge was shared with other Thunder 31 owners through the years. Even though it wasn't an "Active" Thunder, the heritage is there. Hopefully someone with some great fiberglass talent will revive her and bring her back to life. That boat deserves to see the water again!! Steve
To whoever buy hers, Good Luck

Could really deliver the mail back in early 90's. This is a heli pic from about 93 of Runnin Hot recieving a ticket for interfering with a sailboat regatta off South Haven Mi. One of the loudest boats around here then- open headers and 1000's. They would have to straighten the pictures on the walls of the Ship and Shore Motel in Saug. everytime it came through town.
