Gear Splitter
 

Who makes Gear splitters besides Imco & Ultradyamics ?
I have talked with Imco & have an email into ultradynamics, but I was just woundering if you guys knew of someone else that may be making them. ( especially making them a bit mor economical !! ) I have been tossing around the idea in my head for a while & now that I have 2 XR ITS's My 750-800 HP single is still sounds nice in my Saber. It will most likely end up with the twin small bocks in it but I want to keep my options open & besides I am having trouble giving up my sweet supercharged BBC. So we will just have to see what happens. Any body know of anyboby elde building any ???

Dont laugh, but check into tractor pulls. The same basic design is used to combine multiple engines for tractor pulls.

Wiesmann? If it has gears, they are the guys.

I have heard that the Imco splitter is noisy, and people that have been in those boats have doubts.

Check with scs gearbox in ohio, they make alot of the monster truck and truck pulling gearboxes, though I haven't seen a specific marine splitter.

My guess is twin small blocks will be cheaper, and have better resale due to it's "standard configuration".

Plus, some of those gearbox deals have higher frictional losses.

I agree the twin small blocks would be cheaper due to the fact that I already have them, but If I want the performance of my large single I am going to have to spend some coin on my small blocks. I am not set in stone on any certain setup just trying to get some ideas. I just sent an email into Pat. & I will check with SCS in Ohio. Thanks
