Advice on what to do in Miami
I am off to my favourite part of the world (next to gold coast australia :D ) this tuesday for two weeks.
I will be in Los angeles, then vegas for a tradeshow then to miami for two days. I am obsessed with offshore powerboats. I want to go to see where thunderboat row was, then go look at as many powerboats as possible. Any advice on what to do and where to go would be fantastic. Oh, and please include bars!. |
Don't know about the bars. But I will say that I would highly sugest going by & seeing the Nunez family at Pantera boats. They will treat you great & they are always willing to show you around. Pepe & Jo are a true old school offshore warriors. & if classic offshore is your thing it will definatly be worth the trip out there. You could easily spend an hour orso just looking at pictures hanging in the office. If you stop by tell them a Tennessee boy sent you buy & that he said hey.
I know that there are also many other places you can go such as lipshipz , ( which I prob. spelled wrong ) TNT , Extreme marine ect.......... anyway enjoy the trip. Scott |

Things to do in Miami, South Beach topless part, and then leave for Fort Lauderdale.
The only reason I visit South beach when I'm in South Florida |

Any more info guys? What are the best dealerships for cigarettes? Where are the best marinas? Where would you find most offshore activity? Are there any areas with oldschool stuff? |

If you go to Lip-Ship (Biscayne Blvd and 135th), there is PLENTY of hardware around there. Phil is a great guy and surely would show you around. Spinnaker marina is right next door and houses a ton of high-dollar, high speed rigs. Phil could probably arrange for an impromptu tour at the Cig plant too, only about 10 or so miles away. As far as offshore activity, I'm sure he could point you in the right direction. There's also Randy Sweers' place in Aventura. It's right by the Ft. Lauderdale airport. many nice rigs there also. Plenty of cool places to see and things to do. Enjoy! |
Randy Sweers place is on Copans & Dixie Hwy. in Pompano Beach...... He moved. There are a ton of offshore boats there
